well even tho it has it's mistakes and "weird" moments I like this painting of yours above all the others. composition stands there very nicely with the line stretching from corner to corner and the mild contrast of shades of red and green is very pleasant to the eye. I love the perspective shortcut on _HER_ right hand and the superb natural position of fingers. I like the clothing and those wrinkles on her shoulder. However _HER_ left eye is bringing all this down D= And that already discussed elbow, reference or not, it looks weird. You must see it yourself. The thickness isn't so much of a problem as the placement of the bump itself and it lacks the feeling of bone under the skin. sorry for a bit harsh notes but this art deserves strictness
Yeah. To be honest when your working on an image you need to give it a little time before you go back to it otherwise you sort of get blind to the flaws. I see what you're saying on all points I may go back and rework at some point. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
The fear on her face is great, and it's good that you gave her some muscles on her forearms. A lot of the archer chicks on dA are model-skinny, and you can't draw a bow with any sort of pull if you don't have muscles on your arms, forearms included.
Ah...familiar bow <3 It would be kinda hard to draw arrows from the quiver if it's placed on that side...also her forarm looks giant (thicker than her neck)....with almost empty quiver the few arrows left would usually fall to one side of the quiver
the proportionality of the arm is correct it is due to foreshortening and was referenced. As far as the arrows/quiver and stuff i see where you are coming from but this is called artistic license I'm sure if i looked at some of your images there are things done for aesthetics that aren't always practical or physically accurate. The image wasn't particularly intended to be realistic.
Okay then, well from the aesthetic view then, the painting looks beautiful. Just note that when using refs that sometimes some stuff look very much unreal no matter how accurate the ref is. Had a lot of those on my studies...Can get very confusing
